In August 2026, Pilarquim officially launched its new microcapsule acaricide product, Yunjing (允晶®) (Propargite 30% CS) in China. Developed through in-house innovation, the product targets the growing challenge of rapidly developing resistance in spider mites on fruit trees, vegetables, and other economic crops, offering growers a safe, long-lasting, and resistance-management-friendly solution.
Spider mites, characterized by short reproductive cycles and overlapping generations, can quickly build resistance to chemical pesticides in the field, often rendering conventional products ineffective within a short period. Yunjing features Propargite as its active ingredient—a compound with a unique mode of action that has maintained strong field efficacy for nearly 60 years, making it an ideal foundation for resistance management. Utilizing Pilarcore® Technology (a microencapsulation technology), Yunjing encloses Propargite in slow-release capsules, enabling controlled and targeted release of the active ingredient. This significantly improves the product's rainfastness and photostability, extending its residual activity while reducing the frequency of applications.
In terms of crop safety, the microcapsule coating effectively reduces direct contact between Propargite and sensitive tissues such as young leaves and developing fruit, mitigating the risk of phytotoxicity commonly associated with conventional Propargite formulations under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. This allows Yunjing to be used more flexibly, including during mid-season growth and even at tender shoot stages—a significant improvement over traditional products.
Yunjing delivers strong efficacy against adult and nymphal stages of spider mites, rapidly inhibiting feeding and egg-laying upon application, and provides substantially longer residual control compared to conventional formulations. Additionally, it exhibits a favorable environmental profile, with low toxicity to bees and natural enemies, aligning with the principles of green pest management and sustainable agriculture.
Registered for use on citrus in China, with a recommended dilution rate of 1,000–1,500X, Yunjing is also suitable for controlling spider mites and carmine mites on a wide range of crops including apples, cotton, beans, strawberries, and peppers. In practice, it can be tank-mixed with ovicidal acaricides (such as Fluazinam) to enhance overall efficacy and residual activity, enabling integrated pest and disease management while reducing overall crop protection costs.
